Master's Program: Admission and Financial Aid

To apply to the Master of Arts Program in Bioethics, Humanities, and Society, you must have completed or expect to complete your bachelor's degree before you begin the program. Ideally, either the bachelor's degree or subsequent work reflects academic background in at least one of your anticipated areas of concentration. Applicants are admitted for Fall semester only. All application materials must be received in the BHS office no later than January 1 to be fully considered for fellowships or assistantships. Application materials will provide further information about application requirements; to request application materials on-line, click here or send us an e-mail. For further information on financial aid, fellowships, and assistantships, see the BHS Graduate Student Resources page. The Graduate Record Exam (GRE) is normally required for application to BHS (or an equivalent post-baccalaureate standardized exam such as the LSAT or MCAT for joint-degree students).

Admission decisions are made by the program director in consultation with other faculty in the disciplinary departments. Where an applicant lacks necessary disciplinary preparation to pursue graduate work in an intended area of concentration, provisional admission may be considered.
